This outdoor mini split condenser features inverter technology to cool you space more efficiently than a standard air conditioner unit. A unit that has inverter technology offers variable compressor speeds that keep up with your comfort control needs. It uses variable capacity at the initial start up to reach your set temperature quickly. Once the set temperature is reached, the condenser reduces its capacity. And then, rather than shutting off completely like a standard air conditioner, it uses variable capacity to maintain your set temperature. An inverter system reduces your operation and energy costs by eliminating the constant compressor start-ups and shut-downs of traditional air conditioners.
One of the newest features of the Floating Air Select Series is the use of the refrigerant R32. As the US moves away from R410A refrigerant, manufacturers are using alternative replacement refrigerants. R32 is the replacement refrigerant being used in Friedrich's line of Floating Air Select Series mini split systems. R32 features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675.The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Below is a comparison chart of GWPs now being used by manufacturers versus R410A which is being phased out.
The FriedrichFSHSR24B3B 24,000 BTU Floating Air Select Series condenser is a single zone outdoor unit. It can be used with the Friedrich FAHFW24A3B Wall Unit. The Friedrich Floating Air Select Series Single Zone Systems feature high efficiency ratings, low ambient heating and cooling capacities. The Friedrich FSHW243A is rated for 24,000 BTUcooling and 24,000 BTUs heating capacity. It will operate in the cooling mode with outdoor temperatures as low as 5°F. In the heating mode it will continue to operate down to -4°F. While it cannot be used as your primary heat source in the majority of the country, it is an option for secondary heat!
Outdoor unit comes pre-charged with refrigerant sufficient for 25 ft. of line.
