Friedrich FSHW243A 24,000 BTU single zone mini split system includes both the FSHSW24A3A wall unit and theFSHSR24A3A outdoor compressor.Inverter Technology is only the beginning of the standard money-saving features included with Friedrich Floating Air Select Series ductless mini split systems. This technology offers the consumer the ability to run their system much more efficiently, and reduce energy costs all while cooling the space and reaching the desired set temperature more quickly. To help keep the room at a comfortable level, longer, the compressor runs at a lower speed instead of shutting off completely. This helps the system to maintain the set temperature, alleviating the need for the system to start up again from a completely shut down state.
One of the newest features of the Floating Air Select Series is the use of the refrigerant R32. As the US moves away from R410A refrigerant, manufacturers are using alternative replacement refrigerants. R32 is the replacement refrigerant being used in Friedrich's line of Floating Air Select Series mini split systems. R32 features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675.The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. Below is a comparison chart of GWPs now being used by manufacturers versus R410A which is being phased out.
The FSHW24A3 mini split is a 208/230 Volt, cooling with heat pump system. It features high efficiency ratings including a 19.5 SEER2 and 10.6 EER2. The built-in low ambient cooling capabilities will cool your space when outside temperatures are as low as 5°F.The 24,000 BTU heat pump will work hard to keep you warm. As expected the rated heating capacity does reduce as the temperatures fall. This system cannot be used as a primary heating source for most of the country, but it will give you 21,000 BTUs at 17°F. With its low ambient heating capacity, it will continue to provide heat (13,000 BTUs) even with temperatures down to -4°F. If you are need to cool a server room or other equipment year round, this unit's low ambient cooling features make it a great choice.

The outdoor unit is pre-charged with R410A refrigerant for 25 feet of line. Additionally, the line sets can be as long as 100 feet between the compressor and the indoor unit with a 50 foot height difference. Line sets are sold separately.

The Friedrich Floating Air Select Series ductless mini split system comes with a7 year(extended to 10 with product registration) parts and 10 year compressor Manufacturer's warranty. The option of adding a 5 year labor warranty to your coverage is also available (separately) at the time of purchase.
